Good Times

Some times I think Joli may just be a little confused as to how old she actually is.
Joli's Uncle Sam just got a pool table so it definitely needed to be played. It was a lot of fun. A bunch of our friends from back home came over, and we all had some drinks and hung out. One of my good friends brought her two-year-old, Angelina. Joli loves other kids so she was really excited, and so was Angelina! The boys just did their guy thing.

Sam's girlfriend, Kyla and I have also been really good friends since 6th grade, so it's always a good time when we get together. Here's Joli with her Auntie Kyla.
We love going back to see everyone, even if it's just for a night!

The Non-Skiers

In an attempt to see Joe's brother one last time before we headed home, we decided to meet him at the ski lodge he was snowboarding at. This decision was made after a whole lot of screaming, door slamming, bag packing, and strangely enough, lullabies. So we woke up this morning and eventually got ourselves together, then drove up the mountain. It could have been a good time, except we didn't really have snow gear for ourselves (Joli did), and we didn't want to pay the money to rent any equipment. So the three of us sat in the lodge while every one else went up and down the mountain. Joli got very bored, very fast, so I took her outside to enjoy some of the falling snow.

After about two hours we were all bored, and decided to leave and meet every one later. We drove through the snow with our chains on for awhile, until we got to the freeway and then it was smooth sailing. I think maybe Joli has experienced enough snow now.

Snow Joli Baby

Joli and I played in the snow yesterday. It was fun. Until our hands got cold, and then we cried. Wait no, Joli cried, I finished the snow baby. We thought it looked like Joli.

SNOW!!!!!

For those who do not know me well, I LOVE SNOW!!!! It is very exciting for me when I see snow. Not necessarily on the ground, but actually falling from the sky. There have only been two memorable times when I can remember seeing snow fall. The first time was the first Christmas I spent with Joe's family. It actually snowed on Christmas Day. Between being my first Christmas with my future husband and the snow falling, it was the most magical Christmas I can remember. This year we expected on Christmas, but it didn't actually come until last night. But for me, it doesn't matter, I am so happy that there is snow!!! It's so beautiful!

Joe and Joli look great surrounded by snow.
I don't look too bad either. Joli got a little snow spot on this one.

Joli loved tromping through it, especially with her Grammi.
She learned quickly that snow is slippery.
This is what her hood looked like after only a few moments of being in it.

Snow is the best!!!!

Snow Bunnies!!!

Yesterday was a glorious day of playing in the snow!! We took Joli up to one of the local mountain towns that is covered in snow. At first Joli was a little concerned, but once she figured out that she was light enough that she could walk on top of it, she was fine. It kind of reminded me of Jesus, you know the walk on water thing. Every time one of us took a step we sunk about two feet (not really, but it seemed like it every time I tried to pull my leg out). She was also much happier once she got used to wearing four layers that made her capable of rolling into a snowball at any given moment.
It also helped that I had no problem rolling in it myself. She thought that was kind of funny.
We went to a local park so Joli could play on the swings. She almost didn't fit into the swing due the amount of clothing she was wearing. It was also very bright, but her daddy enjoyed putting his sunglasses on her.
Here Joli is once she finally got the hang of walking with bulkiness.
I love snow, so jumping belly first into it sounds absolutely wonderful to me!!
I also get very cold easily. Joe says I have horrible circulation. But I was very happy with four layers under my snow jacket, and jeans under my snow pants and snow boots!

Joli has been such and incredible Daddy's girl this last week. She wants to go everywhere he goes, and will stand outside the door crying if he goes inside any room. While we were in the snow she seemed to be very nervous that he was going to leave her in the cold stuff, so it took awhile to get her to let him put her down. She didn't want me, just Joe.
As previously stated, love that Daddy.
It was such a great time. We ate lunch, and then poked around a few shops before we finally headed back.

Still Festive

Well Christmas may be over but we're certainly still in the spirit around here. Joli wore some new-to-her pjs last night. It looks like it might be the only time she gets to wear them, but they were so cute I just had to put them on her. Here she is trying to get food from her Daddy.

Then we went into the bedroom where she decided to play with the Christmas lights. She looks a bit like a goofball right here.
Here she is just completely fascinated with the lights.
Then she moved on the playing with the toys she got from Santa.Always fun in Babyland.

Merry Christmas!!!

Christmas this year can only be described as exciting chaos!! There were four small children, and seven adults. Now to most this may not seem like a lot, but trying to open presents with four children under four is no small task. Joli certainly enjoyed herself though. I put her in her little Christmas dress and she showed it off to everyone, well after she finished her game that is.

Then she hung out with me until it was time to open presents. I have spent most of the week trying to convince her not to open the presents. So I am thoroughly excited that they are all opened now!
I didn't get much of chance to take pictures with all the kids to keep track of, but I did manage to take one picture of her hugging the hooded towel her Uncle Sam and Auntie Kyla bought her.
We also managed so get some pictures of Christmas morning. Such a happy family!

Joli got a whole bunch of wonderful things in her stocking. It was so much fun!!!

Holiday Hooligans

The kids had been fairly well behaved considering they had all been in the house all day. Up until last night that is. Someone thought it would be a good idea to leave a futon in the living room, and apparently it was an invitation to lose their minds! It started out slowly with a small amount of screeching.

Then quickly lead to jumping off furniture.

Then there was dog-piling.
And as always, somebody gets hurt.

Oh the holidays!!!

Holidays Are Here!!!

It's the time for all the fun holiday activities!! Unfortunately part of the problem of Joli having a birthday right before Christmas is that now she knows how to open presents! At our house it isn't a problem because we have a window seat that we put the tree and all the presents on. But then we go to other people's houses and they have the traditional "tree on the floor, and presents underneath" thing. So much of the last few days have consisted of "Joli, we're not opening presents", or "Ornaments stay on the tree". Joe just happened to catch her in a "I'm being sweet and not getting into anything" moment.
I think she might have actually been getting tired because she spent most of the rest of the evening doing this.
Nothing like a sweet baby at Christmas!!

Joli's Booty!

It would be a safe to say that Joli made out this year! It was her 1st birthday so I guess it's to be expected, but still she scored. Now she's got about a week until Christmas, when I suspect she will again score! One of the outfits she got for her birthday was from my friend Jessica's in-laws. The shirt unfortunately is too small but I found one that goes with the skirt. The leggings are also adorable, but they're too cold for December. So for now she's just wearing the skirt and things I've put with them.

Sickies

I guess in all the excitement I failed to notice that I was beginning to develop the same symptoms as my little angel. She has thankfully broken her fever and I don't have to pump her with Tylenol anymore, but I'm feeling horrible. This morning Joe took us to Target to get some more Tylenol and batteries for the thermometer. (Always when you need them right?) While we were there I decided to look at the PJ's. I had noticed last week that they had some flannel PJ's in woman's and baby sizes by the same people. So I decided to get Joli and I both a pair. They don't match exactly because there weren't any that did, but they are both Christmas and the same style. Instead of wrapping them for us for Christmas, I decided that since we were both sick we could wear them today. I must say it has been a very comfy day!

More Beach Pictures

Well I wasn't able to put up too many pictures of us at the beach the other day because my computer was all out of room and wouldn't let me upload anymore pictures. Then last night Joe came home and gave me my Christmas present and it was a new computer tower!! So now I have a ton of space and a fast computer that's all mine!! I'm so jazzed. Now that I've personalized everything and got my pictures on here, I'm ready with some more beach pics!
