Waterworks!!

Today I finally made it to Wal-Mart to get the pool I've wanted to get for Joli the past two summers! She was so excited and waited so patiently for me to set it up. I even figured out to put our beach umbrella in the yard for a little shade.
I wasn't sure what Brody was going to think but once we got him in it he loved it!! Even when Joli dumped water on him!
After awhile in the pool I wanted to test out the sprinkler and see if it worked and Joli really like that!
Last summer she was afraid of the sprinkler but she doesn't seem to mind this year!
Of course there was some convincing involved sometimes, which required me to run through with her!
As it got later and I had reapplied sunscreen a few times I finally found her little sunshirt that has sun protection in it and convinced her to wear her hat some more!
I guess the sprinkler isn't scary anymore!
It was such a lovely day hanging out in the backyard together! Later in the afternoon Kacie and Charlotte came over with their umbrella and lounged a little. Who would have thought we had such cheap entertainment!

Paninis!!!

Last night Kacie invited us over to have my favorite, paninis and green beans!! She also made homemade potato chips that were just as delicious!! It was such a nice day that we mostly stayed in the backyard and Joe made us some yummy margaritas! I was so excited to come outside and see him holding Charlotte! Joe's not much of a baby person, but she just loves him! Look at her in Joli's old onesie!
This picture is a little blurry but we both look so cute in it I don't care!
Brody came along once again and had a great time playing with everyone outside!
Once it started to get cooler we headed inside where Joli decided to give us her best baby impression.
Kacie was showing me some things on her computer so we squeezed into the big comfy chair together!
Once again we had such a great time with our friends! Now off to hang out with them again!

To the Beach!

It was such a nice beautiful day today and Joe had the idea to go to the beach! Since he usually doesn't want to go we were very excited!
Joli decided to help in getting herself ready to go.
Here is Joli heading to the car. Her head is very well protected!
We weren't the only ones that thought the beach was a good idea, but since we were on base it wasn't too packed. Brody still isn't quite sure why we have to do so many outdoor things, but he's getting used to it.
Joli loves the beach, or maybe just the sand. She's not too fond of the water, but the sand doesn't seem to bother her all that much.
Since Joe was going out into the water Joli thought she might be safe with him. She got about up to her knees and then decided that was enough, he either needed to hold her or she was going back!
I don't really have any pictures of Brianna because she was boogie boarding so far out the camera couldn't catch her! She said she had a good time and I that's what matters. I enjoyed laying on the blanket next to my sleeping puppy!

It's Finally Friday!

Last night I found Joli's "new princess dress" and she's been obsessed with it ever since!
Here she is being the drama queen that she usually is. I think ballet might be in her future?
This morning we went with Abby to see what cool things they have at Costco and whether or not a membership would be worth. We're getting one! Syrus and Joli got to ride together in the double cart and had a wonderful time picking on each other and fighting over food and toys, and then screaming at the top of their lungs! I told Abby that this time next year her kids will both be doing that!
Tonight was awesome!! We went to the drive-in and saw the new Transformers movie! IT WAS AWESOME!!!!! Joli didn't really watch too much of the movie, but she had fun playing in the back of the car.
There wasn't a whole lot of room in the back of the car so Joe leaned against me and it was kind of nice to snuggle up together.
We're going to go see it again... in the theater... without Joli!

Kit Carson Park

The park that the mosaic garden is in is called Kit Carson Park, and it is gorgeous! Full of ponds, walking trails, play grounds and picnic areas. The dogs LOVED the pond! Brody found the biggest stick he could fit in his mouth!
The pond was pretty smelly but that didn't stop the kids from wanting to be in it!
Here's the giant stick again! I think he would have taken it home if I'd let him.
Here's the kids in the pond again. The baby ducks were so cute but they did not like the dogs.
I told Joli she needed to get out of the water and she said "Hold on mom I'm fishing!".
Syrus was so funny running back and forth between mom and pond to throw rocks or sticks in.
Brody was so sad that he had to be back on the leash. I would have let him off but there were other kids there and he loves people so much that he wouldn't stay with me.
Once we got to the playground we picked a spot in the shade and Brody was so excited I wasn't making him walk in the hot sun anymore!
Syrus wasn't all that interested in lunch he just wanted to play!!
Once we got a little food in the kids bellies we let them play on the playground. They loved it and had a hard time coming back to our shade, but it was just so hot in the sun!
Once we convinced them to come back with us they decided to play soccer together, which meant that someone was picking up the ball or they were running into each other!
It was such a wonderful time and we can't wait for our playdate next week!!

Queen Califia's Magical Circle

We got ourselves out of bed today and headed up to Escondido to the Mosaic Garden! We picked up Kacie and Charlotte on the way and met our friends Abby, Syrus, and Lily. Here we are getting ready to see the area.
This is the entrance to the mosaic garden. It was so awesome! The artist that did it worked on it until she died at age 91, and I have to say it is beautiful way to be remembered!
There were all kinds of nooks and crannies for the kids to pop in and out of.
This was the main sculpture that was huge!
The kids loved this little sculpture because it had fun stairs to climb on.
Here's my little diva posing!
Joli loves snakes and there were snakes everywhere! Here she is climbing on one statue full of snakes.
Here is the other side of the main statue.
Another hole to pop out of!
This one was up pretty high but Joli liked trying to touch the top.
More snakes!! Watch out Joli!
It was such an awesome park! I think it's definitely one of the places to see in San Diego!

The Bayou Brothers

Balboa Park has started their new summer concert series and we were so excited to check it out! Tonight's band was the Bayou Brothers which is a zydeco/cajun band. Joli was excited to hear music, she didn't care what kind!
Since it was an outdoor concert we decided to take Brody with us. He loves being out in public, in fact he's so friendly we have a hard time keeping him from licking every person he sees!
Little Miss Fussy Pants also made an appearance. She was happy to see me though!
Joli started dancing as soon as the band started and since no one else wanted to dance in front of people, I stepped up.
Not that I really had any problem dancing. Once we went down to the front it was a blast with lots of other people dancing! Joli and I let it all hang out!
This was right before we went up front, and it was becoming increasingly apparent that Joli wanted someone to dance!
So we went up front and let loose! They were throwing beads out into the crowd while we were up there. Joli only got one on her own, the rest were all from her dancing and being cute and people giving her theirs.
This last shot is a little blurry, but what can I say, we were dancing, and Joli's little booty moving around on the dance floor was just so cute!!
Can't wait until the next fun band!!!
