More Disneyland!!!

After Pirates of the Caribbean we headed straight to Splash Mountain. Joli was so excited, and the wait was only about ten minutes!!

Here we are in our log!
Then headed up a hill!! Joli said "Mom are you crazy?!?!? Put your phone away!!". I could have died laughing!
While we were on Splash Mountain, Joe and Markus went on Winnie the Pooh. When they came out Joe found Markus a hat that he loved!

Next we went to the Jungle Cruise ride, which is another of my favorites. This line was a little longer (almost twenty minutes), but we made the most of it.

Markus certainly enjoyed the Jungle Cruise.

We didn't really have much of an objective for the day, so we decided to wander to Fantasyland.

Markus could not figure out why the sword wasn't coming out!

Markus really REALLY wanted to ride on Dumbo and did not want to have to wait (a whole 10 minutes).

The only way Markus went peacefully off of Dumbo was with the promise of a train ride. So we got on Casey Jr.

Joli always wants to go on the Teacups but I don't do spinning, so Joe went with her.
They got out just in time for the parade!

After the parade Markus was pretty wiped, so Joe took Joli on the Matterhorn and Space Mountain while I cuddled with the boy.
After Joe and Joli were done Markus was awake, so we went to see if Joli was tall enough for Indiana Jones. Sadly she wasn't, but we had a good time in Tarzan's Treehouse.

We didn't really have anything else that we absolutely had to do, and the Mark Twain steamboat was loading up for another cruise, so we hopped on!
Markus made a new friend. "My mommy".
Joli waving at the "Indian Tribe" along the shore.
After the boat ride we headed to Downtown Disney to meet my mom and Dylan for dinner! It was great to see them, and we got to have yummy Mexican food and margaritas! The kids were super excited to see them, and ended up dancing and playing to the music after we ate (I tried to get some pictures but it had gotten too dark). After we said our good byes, we headed to the Disney store so we could all pick out a little souvenir. On the way we stopped to check out the moon.

Markus really wanted one of the cheap Cars light up toys, and since he had already gotten a hat, we figured why not?!
Joli has so many pretty princess dolls that Joe refused to buy her another one, so she picked out an awesome doll instead! (Sally from The Nightmare Before Christmas)
Markus held on the his Cars toy until his eyes closed. Joli was asleep before we hit the freeway!
It really was such an awesome day!! It wasn't too crowded, the heat was manageable, the kids were pretty good, and we went without an expectations. It was the perfect day!!

Half of Disneyland

We still had a one-day park hopper pass for Disneyland, so as an end of summer treat we took the kids up to Disneyland! Now that Markus is a little older and has seen a lot of the Disney movies, it was so fun watching his reaction!

I dressed in a few of my pirate things because Pirates of the Caribbean is my favorite!
We headed to California Adventure first to check out the new Carsland! Joli was just so excited to be there she didn't care what we did!
Markus was really excited until we walked about eight feet inside the gate, then he wanted to be held. We were trying to convince him that there were a lot of cool things to see and that he would want to walk up and see them all, but he didn't buy it and we ended up having a bit of a meltdown. I'm sure he was just overwhelmed.

Joli was pretty much an angel all day. She didn't whine or complain really at all, even when Markus was having a tantrum she just waited patiently and took it all in!
Soon a trolley show came by and did an excellent job distracting and calming our monster.

Then we headed to Carsland.
It was so cool and so accurate!!
We got a little snack in Markus and he was somewhat manageable while we waited in line to ride one of the rides.
We finally made it on the ride after about 20 minutes (longest line we ended up in all day!), which was pretty fun, although not really worth the wait.
Markus was just happy to be around all the car stuff!
When we came out of the ride Lightening McQueen was meeting people, so we headed right over!

Then I tried to get a picture of the kids in front of the city hall....
Joe went and got the kids some ice cream to try and help with the heat, and it ended up being a pretty good distraction technique despite the rate at which it was melting!

After we finished the ice cream we decided that what we really wanted to see was Disneyland, so we headed that direction and ran into Goofy!!
Finally we made into Disneyland!!!

We wanted to make sure we got to eat at our favorite restaurant, so we headed in that direction first.
We walked by Thunder Mountain Railroad along the way and since it was only a five minute wait, Joe and Joli went on in!
Markus absolutely LOVED watching the train go around, and we found a nice shady spot to do it.

It was hard to figure out which train they were on because it was going so fast, but I managed to get a picture!
Afterward we down to the bar-b-que restaurant. It such a great place! It costs as much as anything else in the park, but you get real food and great atmosphere!

On the way out of the restaurant there is a petting zoo with animals all named after Disney characters! So cute!!

Joli was finally tall enough to go on Splash Mountain and couldn't hardly wait, so we started to make our way there.
We had to walk by the train again, which is never a bad thing.
As we were walking past Pirates of the Caribbean, we noticed that the line was only five minutes, so of course we went right in! Markus wasn't too sure about the dark factor, but he ended up dancing toward the end!
