A Hot Week

Since it's been such a hot week I wanted to go cool off at the beach and try out my new creation! Order one at https://www.etsy.com/listing/232072764/dragon-backpack-and-towel 

 Markus was an excellent model!

 Markus was very happy to play in the sand, especially since there were several hill to play on.

 Tessa and baby Emmy joined us, and Markus just loved playing with the baby! It was quite a challenge such a sandy boy away from the small baby!

 Markus wanted to go down and play in the water, but he doesn't like going by himself, so I went down with him and we played tag in the surf.

It was so much fun! As usual I ended up sun burnt because I was having such a great time!

Down Time

After a full day of school for the kids and errand running for me, I thought we should take a little time to focus on each other. I told the kids I would take them to the bakery under two conditions: 1. They had to use their own money for whatever they got. 2. We had to walk there and back. 

We walked and they told me all about their day at school. They each picked a pastry, which they ate at the bakery while I told them about my day.

We stopped at the little park on our way back so they could play in the fountain.

I sat in the grass under a tree.

It was lovely.

Front Porch Sittin'

Yesterday morning Markus and I decided to take advantage of the nice morning weather and sit on the front porch. I commented that I needed to trim the bushes, and he replied "It's okay Mommy, I'll do it!"....

He mostly trimmed the flowers off the top and then noticed the paint I had brought out. So I set him up with his own.

It really was very relaxing.

Once Markus had finished, he showed me that he had made our family. He then asked how to spell our names, and without asking what the letters looked like, he proceeded to write them! Some of them were backwards or a little smooshed, but otherwise he did it!

I said we should clean up and make lunch, and he said "Oh, I'll do that!". Then he did!

I finished painting this year's stepping stone.

Then we went to pick up Joli. It was quite peaceful!
