More Kittie Madness

We finally figure out why the kittens are so facinated with the computer. It's the mouse!!
I got it!!!
Once the mouse got boring Juliet decided to climb into one of the bookshelves, but since there is already sibling rivalry, Zeus climbed in after her so as not to be left out.
Juliet was very graceful about sharing her space.
I've heard people talk about cat ladies, but are there cat gentlemen?
Best seat in the house I guess.
Okay next post will have Joli in it, I promise!

We Finally Saw Chris and Kacie!!

Well Chris has been super busy with work this week and since Joe's been home we haven't really done much. But Chris and Kacie invited us over for dinner and we jumped at the chance! It was so excited to hang out again! Little Miss Charlotte is getting so big, she's constant smiles! I was trying to distract Joli by having her hold Charlotte, but her attention span got in the way again and this was the only picture I got.
I sat and talked with Charlotte for quite some time and would just smile and smile until I tried to take a picture. I think kids know and do it on purpose. I KNOW Joli does!
Joli has suddenly become a very jealous child and she can't stand that Charlotte might be playing with something that she's not. So here they are playing together. Charlotte is more interested in Joli than the toy, but who can blame her.
We had such a great time and it's so great to hang out with our friends again!

More Relaxing

Everyone in our house has taken a very lazy approach to this week. It's the first time we've been able to hang out and just spend time together in almost a year! Now that our kittens have been here for a few days they too are being lazy.
Unfortunately two-year-olds have a lot more energy than grown-ups that just want to relax, so we've also been trying to keep little miss busy occupied as well.
Joe actually has a shorter attention span than Joli and tends to get goofy when he's bored with whatever she's doing.
Zeus has blended in amazingly with our family and even likes to hang out with Joli despite how rough she can be. This was right before she pushed him off the stool because it's somehow funny.
Zeus loves Joe's big chest the most and anytime Joe sits down it's only moments before Zeus is there with him.
Today Juliet has finally gotten over her bad feelings toward Zeus and they are rapidly becoming best friends. This morning they've been running around wresting with each other all over the house. This picture was from last night when we came home. I think they're going to get along just fine!
Joli has been somewhat of a pest most of the week. She used to be able to play in her room for extended periods of time but now all the sudden she can't make more than three minutes without coming out and feeling the need to get up in one of our faces and talk constantly. Yesterday I actually set a timer for 15 minutes and told her she had to play in her room with her toys until it beeped! This worked and today she was able to play in her room as well as the living room. She put me in charge of taking care of the babies.
I guess she didn't think they were tired because she took them and started talking their little ears off.
Well off to get something done.

Another Chill Day

Once again we didn't do much today. Joe is still on leave and has been loving just relaxing at home and not having to go anywhere. So I took Joli to swim lessons and she was thrilled to be back having fun. Then after a nap we all took a walk over to the park and spent some time together. There's a new playground that is so awesome so we all played on it! Once we got home Joli painted on the porch while I made dinner. She usually doesn't paint too long but she really enjoys it.
Unfortunately Joli was painting before I was done with dinner so I told her to go in her room and dress up like a princess, this is how I found her.
Joe has just been relaxing with our new kitty. Zeus totally loves Joe and always wants to be right up under his chin, especially if he's on the computer. Well I guess at least someone can get his attention while he's online!
Off to relax some more.

Now We Have Zeus!!

After we were done at the zoo we decided to head over to Souplantation for delicious lunch. Since we were right next to a pet store we went in and then got the notion to check out the animal shelter down the road. They had a ton of kittens and since we'd been wanting to get a friend for Juliet we brought home Zeus!
We figured since Juliet and Zeus are so little it wouldn't take too long for them to like each other so we brought Zeus in and set him down with Juliet. They sniffed each other a bit and Juliet hissed a little but then they went off to do their own thing.
Juliet was not so sure of the new little friend and watched him from behind posts most of the afternoon.
Zeus is totally chill and just kind of stared at Juliet when she hissed at them went to check out more house.
Juliet wasn't about to let down her gaurd until she was sure he wasn't a threat. Best to always be on alert.
Joli is loving having kittens in the house. She's doing so well. I think she knows that they're babies and that she has to be gentle. She's still learning how to play with them, but she has no problem loving them.
Juliet loves when I sit on my computer, apparently it's a comfortable place to lay.
Zeus also loves to cuddle, anywhere that's comfy and he's all in!
After everyone had a nice nap Juliet decided she had danced around this new kitten long enough and it was time to play. The only problem was that once they chased each other around then she would be right up against him and she didn't like that, so then she would hiss.
They did the play/hiss dance for awhile and then they were both exhausted.

Not sleeping together, but sleeping none the less.

We Saw Snakes!!

While we were hiking last week we happened across a few snakes and ever since Joli has been asking to go see more snakes. So today we made a little family trip to the zoo. Joli got see plenty of snakes!
These were just a few of the ones we saw and Joli wasn't the slightest bit afraid. She would put her face right up against the window where the snakes head was!!
We saw a few more things while we were at the zoo, but our main focus was snakes. We saw a big turtle.
There was an actual hippo exhibit but Joli was so facinated by the statues that she didn't even look at the hippo!
In the children's area of the zoo there is a petting area, mostly goats, but Joli always wants to go in. This is about as close as she get to them.
We went into the bug house at the children's zoo and saw this awesome bee colony. There were so many, we were mesmerized.
The new elephant exhibit was finally done and we didn't realize that it was on the other side of the zoo before we promised Joli we'd see elephants. Oh well, we got some good exercise. And the new exhibit was awesome!
Here is one of the giant statues in the new exhibit.
Joli talks about zebras all the time and we're rarely on the side of the zoo that they're in so it was so exciting to see them!
It was a nice short visit that would have been longer except we were hungry and tourist season has begun!

Being At Home

Today we decided to stay home and relax. Joli enjoyed hanging out with our new kitten and learning how act with her. Juliet certainly seems to like Joli.
It's always nice to lay on the couch and snuggle with a little girl.
Joli decided that she needed to put her babies to bed and read them a story.
I cleaned up Joli's room a few nights ago and took out all the toys that were too young for her. Now she's learning how to keep her room clean all by herself.
Today was also the end of the baby era. I put all the clothes diapers in a box today and stored them, now Joli is all in underwear.
Our little Juliet is so active and wants to play most of the time. Here she is for a moment of containment.
Joe was awesome and made dinner tonight. It's been so nice to have him home to hang out with!
He was trying to kiss me, I was trying to take a picture. Cute!
Juliet is all about being on the table, especially when we're eating. She's finally starting to catch on that she can't eat out of our plates.
One of the benefits of not having a doggy in the backyard anymore is that I can hang out our clothes again. It's awesome because the weather is perfect for it just about year round
As soon as I brought the clothes in Juliet decided it was a comfortable place to be.
Juliet loves Joe, especially laying on his big shoulders.
Unfortunately Juliet is a fiesty little thing and likes to attack the sensitive spots, like you neck...

Then she acts all sweet like she was just sleeping!
Joli's been asking to go see snakes for weeks so tomorrow we're going to see some! Yay!
