Rehearsal

We were so excited that Laume came down to visit and watch Joli's ballet recital this weekend. There wasn't too much going on today so we went downtown and to Seaport Village. Joli got to wear the new skirt that Grammy had brought her. After some wonderful lunch and a nap it was time for Joli's rehearsal. It was terribly unorganized so we entertained ourselves by taking pictures and watching YouTube videos on my phone.

Then it was Joli's time to go on. Her and the other girls in her group were very excited!
There was no flash photography allowed and I had forgot my camera so here is what I could get with my phone.

Joli and Autumn mostly did their own thing with some of the dance moves thrown in for good measure. They were so hilarious! I think they were just so excited to be on stage that all they could think to do was flit around the rest of the group!

It was very entertaining and we are looking forward to the show tomorrow! Fortunately Joli's stand-in daddy (Chris) will be there to watch although we are sad that Joe will miss it. But we are very happy that Joli's Grammy was willing to travel so far to see it!

Home and The Beach

The past few days have been fairly busy and fairly productive. Yesterday we had Joli's last ballet class, lunch at Kacie's and dinner at Abby's. In the hour or so in between we took Brody for a walk and Joli painted.

For some reason she was very into wearing her gloves and wanted to wear them to Abby's. I said sure as long as I got a picture.
Today we Abby and the kids at the beach. We were hoping for a little warm weather and it was okay, but not bathing suit weather.

After a bit we all walked down to the water for the kids to collect some rocks/shells.
Lilly didn't really care about the rocks as much as she wanted to get wet!

Joli and Syrus weren't really trying to get wet they were just trying to get water in their buckets.
Lilly thought that was pretty cool too!
Abby and Syrus jumped over some waves together.
Joli ran and screamed every time a wave came...
And Lilly was totally adorable as she screamed and followed Joli!

Eventually Lilly fell and got soaked which meant it was too long before she was cold and wanted to go sit up on a blanket.
Once we got back from the beach of course the sun came out. Joli and I spent most of the afternoon on the front porch. She played while I cleaned off the porch and hung the birdhouse that she made.
Once every thing was clean out front I figured I should go take a look at the backyard.
So I pulled a bunch of weeds and put down some topsoil.
I finally got one of three lavender plants in the ground. As soon as I get the rest of those weeds out I'll be able to put in the other two. One step at a time I guess.
Eventually our tummies started to growl so we went inside for literature filled dinner.
Such a lovely day! Hopefully I will continue feeling productive tomorrow and clean the office!

Tea For Lunch

Instead of making lunch today I made tea sandwiches for a tea party! Joli was wanted a tea party this morning so it seemed like a great plan! We had PB&J and cucumber and cream cheese!
We also had some cut up fig newtons and some fruit!
Joli loved it! She ate all the PB&J's, most of the blackberries and oranges, but didn't really like the fig newtons all that much. Oh well.

If only she could always be this appreciative!

Down by the Bay

Chris surprised Kacie and showed up a day early on Friday! It was very excited for her and for us as Joe was supposed to leave Saturday morning! So we took advantage and got together for dinner. We had so much fun at the park by the bay last time that met there again. Joe and Joli played ball for awhile.
Chris and Kacie walked down to the water with Charlotte and of course Joli followed.
Kacie said that while they were walking around Joli told Charlotte "I'm your big sister, you have to listen to me!". Hmmm, I see much more bossiness in our future.
Joe thought it would be fun to climb a tree and surprise Joli when she walked back up the hill.
She started yelling at him to "get down here, right now!".
Charlotte had to give her two cents as well, although hers sounded more like "Hey, what are you doing?".
Yesterday morning Joe spent backing and getting ready for another quick training trip. Once he was done he asked if we would like to join him for lunch before he left. Of course we did! We still had a little bit of time before he left, so he spent that time playing with Joli on the playground.
When we dropped Joe off he said that as Joli gets older it gets even more heartbreaking to leave. As he was walking away she was screaming "Please Daddy, please don't go, please stay!". Pretty sure that everyone within ear shot was about to cry.

Life

I realize I haven't posted much in the past week so here is a collection of the past four and five days. Joli took this picture of Charlotte and I just thought it was so cute!
I bought Joli a couple new things the other day including these cute little PJs.
They have these cute little Velcro on wings! They're so cute!
Joli wanted to take a picture of Joe, it didn't turn out too bad.
Joe had the day off yesterday and went with us to Joli's ballet lesson and then played with her at the park for a little while.
They had a pretty good time.
After ballet Joli got to paint for a little bit.
She's been really focused on making an actual picture these past few times.
This is a picture that she said was Joe, her and I. I'm the little purple head, Joe's the blue head, and Joli's the big purple head.
Joli said these are all of Joe, she just didn't like how they were turning out.
Since we've had such nice weather and the pets have fleas anyway, I've been letting the kittens go outside and they just love it!
I've also been making an effort to throw the ball for Brody at least once a day. His attention span is about as long as Joli's.
He's happy that Joe's home though!
I also took a few pictures of what I've been doing to make more room for the baby. Here's the kitchen before...
And after.
I took the play kitchen out of here...
To make room for this.
I also removed the shelf in one of the hall cabinets to make a little closet.
Here's the changing station and drawers too.

I also started packing my bag for the birthing center today too. I had my 32 week check up this morning and they said he's measuring just perfect and sounds great!
