Catching Up Day Two

Some days you just need to stay home. Today was that day. This is what Joli chose to do most of the day.
This is what I did.

Now I need to order more pictures!!

The Bakery

I have recently rediscovered our local bakery. They make the most amazing cherry turnovers!! Since it's only a one mile walk I figure it kind of balances out! Joli thinks our walks are an excellent idea!
Although Brody certainly enjoys our walks, he doesn't quite understand why he doesn't get anything at the bakery.
I've decided that there's a good chance that I will go into labor in my quest for pastries. The hills around here are nothing to joke about! Speaking of the belly, it's still growing!
Until next time.

Big Bumps

What's the best cure for a busted lip? A popsicle of course!!!!
From what I heard from the kitchen, I'm fairly sure she was standing on a chair teasing the dog, and lost her balance. Luckily she didn't hurt any of her teeth!!!

Channeling My Energy

I've decided that instead of focusing my energy on getting ready for a baby that won't be here for another four and a half months, I should focus on doing something that needs to be done that I've been putting off, and won't have time for after the new bundle gets here. One thing that I've been meaning to do for quite some time is to catch up on Joli's scrapbooks. As you can I'm quite a bit behind!!

I got quite a bit done for one afternoon of work. I've got pictures through August of that year and then I'll have to order another batch. Shouldn't take me too long if I stick with it. It took me one afternoon to do three months of pages, so another 10-12 afternoons of work in the next four months should do it!

My Little Ballerina

I have to say it is quite adorable just to see how much she enjoys it, and how well she pulls it off.

After ballet and yoga we headed off to do the dreaded taxes. After an hour and a half of waiting it was finally our turn. It was a rather entertaining wait though. Joli told me and the other five people in the waiting room several very imaginative stories. She had people almost rolling out of their chairs!! As a treat for behaving so well for so long, Joli and I stopped at the local bakery on the way home.
Needless to say, she definitely enjoyed!!
I got a chocolate muffin and a cherry strudel! Mmmmmmm!!!!

Just a Little Exercise

Today we made a little trip up to the Wild Animal Park with Chris and Kacie. It was a nice little outing.

Charlotte is doing a great job giving Joli practice to be a big sister. She's definitely beginning to learn what "tolerance" means.
I had to capture this flower as these flowers where every where and Joli was pretty much obsessed with them. I had them in my shirt, in my hair, and carried several of Joli's "favorites".

Just Call Me Super-Nester!!!

I think it's safe to say that I've officially started nesting. At the beginning of the week every one started talking about how much rain was coming. Well I really didn't want my glider to get wet, and since it was on the porch that meant I needed to bring it in. But where to put it? Pretty much set the wheels in motion of completely re-organizing the house. Once I brought the glider in I decided to go through the Jack-n-Jill closet between Joli's room and the office, because at the time I couldn't even open the door. Not a problem now.
I continued to go through the office and by the time I was done I had a recycle pile, a trash pile, and a fairly large Goodwill pile. Then I had the problem that once I got the glider in the living room there was no place to set things while sitting in it. So I decided to take the end table out of my room that wasn't really being used. But then that left a hole where the dog could get to books and wires. So that meant I needed to move the dresser, but since I was planning on moving the dresser at some point to make room for the crib anyway, I just figured while I was doing it, why not put it where I want it? Of course once I did that I needed to put up the crib.
I added some non-baby things to make it not look so much like it's just waiting for a baby.
I also had these shelves that I've been meaning to put up for about six months. Well those went up too.
At that point I was kind of on a roll and started going though the cupboards in the kitchen to get rid of the things we didn't want and organize the things we did.
Here is the living room after I got the glider it. I had to rearrange three or four pieces of furniture to make it fit.
Then yesterday I woke up not really sure what I was going to do with the day, but after watching about four home improvement shows I decided painting was a good plan! Here's the wall yesterday morning.
Here's the wall last night!!
Now I just have to take the tiling class so I can re-tile the bathrooms and kitchen, and replace the toilet in our bathroom!! There's still plenty more, but that's what I hope do in the next two weeks.

Teeth and a Baby

Joli had a dentist appointment this morning and I was very displeased to discover that she has an infection in one of her teeth. She has an appointment in a few weeks to get it cleaned out. Let's hope all goes well and she doesn't have to be put under any anesthesia!
This evening Joli and I went over to Chris and Kacie's to play with Charlotte so they could have a date night. Charlotte was a pleasure as always! She was totally cracking me up because she figured out how to play peek-a-boo. I think she thought I couldn't see her through the slats of this table because she kept popping out from behind and squealing.
Here's the moment when it all clicked that she wasn't hiding all that well.
I made spaghetti and meatballs for the three of us and the girls ate a ton!!! I made eight meatballs and I only had three!

Spaghetti night always warrants a bath so I threw them both in the tub.

I guess Joli has decided she likes Charlotte again because she was doing an amazing job being "big sister" and playing with her!
After I got the girls in their pj's, Charlotte starting exploring what other things she could climb on.
She didn't really think this plan through beforehand.
It's fun to notice the differences in how cautious Charlotte is compared to Joli at the same age. Every time I would stack these blocks up, Charlotte would carefully take them off one at a time and wait for me to stack them again. Joli always just plowed through them and kept on truckin'!
I think they're are the track for being great friends/cousins/siblings.

Now all babies are sleeping and the mommies and daddies should too!
