I'm Tired

Joli apparently is too. She keeps coming in my room when I'm not yet asleep and then getting irritated that I have the t.v. and/or light on. She won't listen to my solution of "STAY IN YOUR OWN BED!", but oh well.
Today I had to take my car in to get some work done and instead of trying to entertain Joli for and hour and a half in the "customer lounge", I decided to walk to a near-by shopping center and get some exercise. I found a couple small pieces for Joli's faerie outfits, but not everything I was looking for. Then we just walked around until we came across a home store that was going out of business. They had the awesomest rug that I wanted for mine and Joe's bedroom so bad!!!
Would have been perfect... oh well. About a month or so ago I got out my of my baby dolls to give to Joli. When I gave it to her I told her that this was a special doll to me and that she could play with her as long as she was nice and did not take the clothes off her. Joli loves "baby bumblebee" and has decided that she must go with us wherever we go. I guess I'm okay with that.
I have a rule that baby bumblebee cannot go into any stores with us because "we don't want her to get lost", but I make an exception for the post office where I would just about give Joli a pound of candy if she would stand next to me and not tear things off the shelf.
After Joli got a nap and I got a shower, we headed over to Coronado to get some much needed dog food, and then walk down to the park to release some energy. It was only about a half mile walk, but after the two miles I walked earlier in the day, and then the fact that Joli wanted me to carry her half-way, I was a little tired.
Joli loves the swings and I do not blame her one bit, they are awesome! I wish some one would push me on a swing!
After we were done at the park we walked down to the bar and grill that Nikki works at to get something to eat and visit with her a little. Robyn and Little Bear met us there and it was nice to have conversations that didn't include screaming or the word "mommy". As long as the place is still serving food then Joli is allowed to be in there, but I don't think I've ever seen any other kid in there besides her. Everyone is so entertained by her that no one ever seems to mind though. I ordered a couple bottle root beers and a couple people had to do a double take when she started doing this...
I think she just thought it was cool to drink out of a bottle, and who could blame her! Cans are so boring! Well off to get some sleep!

Just Livin'

Today was swim lessons. We showed up a little early so I entertained myself by taking pictures of Joli entertaining herself!
This face was so cute in a piglet kind of way.
After Joli woke from her nap she came in to the office where I was working on some quilts. She loves the baby chair!
Tomorrow should be just as exciting.

The Beautiful Fairy

Since I have figured out most of my outfits for the Faerie Festival I've started working on Joli's outfits. She thinks this is an amazing idea since I keep dressing her up in different pretty tutus and wings. She keeps asking me "Can I fly at the faerie festival?". Here is the pair of wings that she's worn for the past two years. They are pretty worn down and ready for retirement.
These are her play wings. I don't plan to use them for the festival but Joli loves to dress up with them.
The skirt is another item that has been retired from festival life and transfered to the play box.
Since she is so set on flying as soon as possible, she wore her wings over to Chris and Kacie's. Here she is playing peek-a-boo.
Joli also insisted on bringing her new favorite baby bumble bee! I've had her since I was in high school and I have told Joli that she may play with her as long as she is nice. She seems to have excepted this.
Joe called today and informed me that I needed to check my email as there was a picture in it that I need to see. This was the headline: This is what happens when the back of a explosive charge hits you in the face.
I knew he was going to get hurt. At least this time I don't have to fly across the country to get him. Every one cross your fingers for no more incidents for the duration of his school! Poor babe!

A Nice Relaxing Day

Now that all of our campany has gone home, Joli and I have been enjoying some nice mother-daughter time. We had a wonderful time making lunch together today.
Joli specifically asked for mac-n-cheese for lunch and of course I was sure to make it.
I had the most delicious steak salad that I have ever had! Mmmmmm, I wish had more!
Joli definitely enjoyed her mac-n-cheese. She had three helpings!!
It was such a nice day. Kota stayed inside with us most of the day and he too thought it was an amazing day. Tomorrow will hopefully be another relaxing day!

Joe's Adventures

Although Joli and I are still upset that Joe is not here, it has been easier being able to talk to him whenever we want. Since he has a fancy new phone now as well, he's been able to send me pictures of his trip. So today's blog is all the pictures he has sent me in the past week. This picture Joe took on the way to his school from the airport. He said he took it because he knew I would love the green fields and he was right!

This weekend Joe and the other guys he is at his school with decided to take a weekend trip up to New York City since one of the guys is from there. Since they had to drive most of the day they didn't get there until midnight. Here is a picture of one of the first things Joe saw. He sent this and then called me not long after to say he was standing at the bottom of the Empire State Building! Ugh, I'm so green with jealousy! *pout, pout* While in New York City Joe stayed at a hotel for military, which he described as "it's a place to stay". I think that means there wasn't much to it, but it was cheap and that was the part I liked!

This is a picture of the New York City Stock Exchange. Have I mentioned yet how jealous I am that I didn't get to go?!?

Here is the Federal Building. Joe said this is where George Washington was inaugurated as our first president. I sooooo want to go!

This is my FAVORITE picture and I want to be there so bad! This is the New York City Library! Joe said he got to see one of the first books ever written! What an awesome piece of history.

This is a picture of one of the oldest churches in New York City. I don't think they went in, but the architecture is beautiful!!

Here is a cool picture of the Brooklyn Bridge! Isn't this the bridge that some dinosour or giant creature is always climbing on the movies?

Apparently Joe saw a lot more but these were the only things he was able to get good pictures of. Next time I want to go to the school and Joe can stay home with the child that flips a complete 180 in her behavior when he leaves! So jealous!

A Life of Babies

This morning Jess packed up and headed off to visit more family. While she got ready I was on baby duty. Joli was a big help in that department.
After cleaning up the house and Joli getting a nap, we headed over Chris and Kacie's house for dinner. Kacie was cleaning out one of her bags and Joli happened to get into the stuff that she had left out. We were all sitting out in the living room and Joli walked out like this.
Yes, those are pads! Joli says "Look, sticky diapers! They are like stickers!", oh the mind of a child!
Charlotte looked as beautiful as always today. I told Kacie she's getting even more pretty now and starting look more like a baby and less like a newborn.
Kacie is convinced that Charlotte has enough hair for this little bow she bought her. Just barely.
As usual Joli wanted to hold Charlotte. Since Charlotte was asleep then I had Joli hold her like we would. They both seemed to enjoy it.
Joli just loves holding Charlotte and watching t.v., just like the rest of us!
Here's the beautiful bow on the beautiful baby before it fell out.
Here's one of the most adorable smiles I've ever seen! Oh she's so stinkin cute with her little smile! I know you can barely see it, but it just makes my day every time she smiles at me.
Here is one of Charlotte's new binkies, they are just like Joli's! It will make it much easier later this year when Joli "passes her binkies on".
Chris' parents have been in town almost a week but we've been so busy we haven't gotten a chance to them. Joli had a great time playing with both of them!
We had a wonderful evening with our friends and can't wait to see them again!

Kota's New Toys

I was reading in my book last night that if I provide Kota with plenty of toys in his yard then he will be took occupied to dig or bark. So today we headed to Petco and picked up the biggest and most durable toys they sold. I only gave him two of them but he thought they were the coolest things he's ever seen!
This giant ball on a rope is so awesome! It's a solid ball and he can throw it around all over the place without tearing it up!
This is a a real tire that I thought was the coolest most durable thing in the store, and then Kota puts his jaw around it and bends it without hardly any effort. He's much stonger then we give him credit for.
Joli had a very rough day. I think the past two weeks to a month have been extremely exhausting for her and all the sudden it's starting to catch up to her. Here she is begging for attention since Kota was getting it all.
I thought this picture was so sweet. After running all over the yard with giant ball, he had to lay down and chew on his tire.
Once we finally finished all the errands we had to run, we went down to Seaport Village to finally relax. Joli had a different idea. Here she is at a fairyl calm moment.
Then she chased the ducks into the pond because, well, that's what crazy two-year-olds do.
We found this really cool store for "The Urban Girl" and Joli found these dog toys that she thought were the coolest things. She just thought they were drinks and that she would share.
Joli made sure that Cole had a nice drink too.
Now this is relaxing. A sucker and a beer.
Once the sucker was gone Joli wanted to have another one, and when I told her she only got one she began running around the store and getting into things, which lead to her getting into trouble, which soon lead into a large massive tantrum. So we left Jess and Cole to shop some more and I carried Joli out to the car to get the stroller. By the time we got there she was hysterical so I buckled her in her carseat and shut the door. Here she is still screaming after more than 30 MINUTES!!!
Finally she calmed down enough to agree to get into the stoller so we continue our outing with Auntie Jess. We only ended up hitting a few more stores before the migraine that started around the same time as the tantrum really set in. So we went into one last store for Joli to play for a few minutes before we headed back. One of Joli's favorite things is to tell everyone Happy Birthday whethere it's their birthday or not. So this wooden birthday cake set was so awesome! She sang Happy Birthday to herself and I and then we got to blow out a candle.
Tomorrow we're going to TRY to sleep-in!
