A Blustery Hike

Joe and I have really been wanting to spend some time outdoors lately, so we decided to go for a hike today. We didn't realize that it was only thirty eight degrees out in the forest, but luckily we had brought some warm clothes.
It started out pretty good with the kids running with the dogs, and checking out the little bit of snow left on the ground.

The kid's hands were pretty cold so we taught them to put them in their sweatshirt pockets.

Joe was throwing sticks for the dogs so Markus decided to find the biggest stick he could carry.
 He found one....

Joe climbed up on a boulder, so first Brody, then Joli, then Markus decided to follow.

Markus started getting really cold, especially on his fingers, so I snuggled him on my chest.
It was kind of nice to cuddle with him for awhile.
We stopped to have a snack.

Havoc carried the stick Joe gave him the whole time, and was thrilled when we stopped so he could chew on it!
After some kisses we headed back to the car with promises of lunch and the heater. It was a great time!
