San Diego City Library

Yesterday we took the trolley downtown to see the new city library. It's EIGHT stories high!! The top is a dome, and so awesome!
 The view was gorgeous!
We went into the rare books room, where there were shelves upon shelves of genealogy books. They were so amazing!
Even Joli enjoyed looking at the names of people that came over on the Mayflower!
I found this cool little article for my friend Danisa!
There was a display for the Horton Hotel that was built back in 1869. It was a luxurious hotel that cost $2.50 for a room, including meals!!

This room wasn't completed yet, but they were building a display of books so old , they had to be in glass cases!
This bench would be perfect in a garden somewhere!
This room was so comfy, and had such a great view. I wish I could sit there with a cup of coffee and stack of books all day!!
 The building was just beautiful!
Since the library is right next to Petco park, there was a whole section for baseball history!

This is the down from underneath.

Joli found a book called "Two Guys Name Joe". It was about the artwork in a bunch of different Disney movies. She had such a great time reading it that we ended up checking it out to bring home!
 Another awesome old book!
We finally made it to the bottom floor where the children's section is, and there were some really awesome displays!

We ended up narrowing down our selection to eleven books to check out! I could have spent days in there!!!
