Field Trips

Since our girls had a field trip to the zoo today, my friend Stacey and I decided to take our little boys to the zoo on Monday. It was a little warm, but not too bad. We got there just in time to see the flamingos being fed.
Markus was fascinated by the birds. Since Stacey had her stroller, I decided to put Markus in the backpack so we could get a little work out.
The boys wanted to see the monkeys, so that's where we went.

We continued down the trail until we came to the hippo!

Then today, Stacey and I chaperoned the first graders! We each got two kids. This is Joli and her partner, Alitza!
Alitza had never been on the Skyfari before, she was a little nervous.
Joli and I are used to it by now!
Stacey and I took our four girls the opposite direction of everyone else, and went to the other side of the park to the polar bears!

They were so excited, and since we were in the shade and it wasn't yet scorching hot, they were in good spirits!
We met up with the rest of the class midway through the zoo to have lunch, and take a few pictures.

Then we continued on to the Australian Outback area, where we learned all about koala babies!
There were some pretty cool birds too!
We checked out the giraffes before headed on. Alitza really wanted to see some monkeys, so that's the way we went!
We ended up watching the flamingos for awhile, as they were building up their nests and some were even sitting on eggs!
We walked a little way down the monkey trails, but didn't want to go too far, since we knew we'd have to meet back up with the class soon.
Our meeting in spot was in front of the reptile house, so we decided to just hang out there until it was time. The girls were all hot, and since Stacey and I were there, our girls were whiny!

They were pretty goofy in the end, but they all said they loved it and had a great time! They also loved the bus ride, since they had never been on one! (Joli and Markus had a long talk this morning about what they thought the bus ride would be like.) It was quite a successful day!
