The New Children's Museum

I realized not too long ago, that I only have a few short weeks left of doing things just with Markus. Soon Joli will be out of school and then they'll BOTH start in the Fall. So I'm making it a point to take Markus on a fun field trip once a week until Joli gets out of school. Today it was a trolley trip down to the New Children's Museum.
There was no one really there yet, so we took advantage of the empty playground!

We finally made our way inside to the other playground!
The rain room is always so fun!

The fruit and veggie sink is so much fun, but it was obvious that Markus is almost too old to be there. He was very careful not to knock anyone down, but apparently all children over the age of three are in "hard core" preschool now, so it was strange for him to be there on a "school day".
The pea pods are always a favorite! Markus explained what they were to a few of the smaller kids and even showed them how to put the peas back in the pod.

There was a new area with blocks today, and Markus LOVED it. We spent almost an hour there!

I was getting a little tired of sitting on the floor, so eventually I talked Markus into going out on the bubble terrace!

Then we headed downstairs for some climbing and more building.

On our way back up to the cafe for lunch, we walked through the art area, which Markus usually has zero interest in, but today he was all about it!

After we finished building a house, we finally made it to the cafe (I was starving!).
Before it was time to head home, we went in to check out the new "sand in the moonlight" area.

Markus had a few last moments of fun before we headed back to trolley.

On our way out to the trolley Markus swung for a little while and I walked though the garden.

We had such a lovely day, and a lovely trolley ride home.
