Life is "Normal" Again

Last night we made a stop at the park so Joe and Joli could play on the playground. Joli was beyond thrilled.
Joe has always a great playground player. Mommy can't hardly compete.
After the park we headed to Chris and Kacie's for my birthday dinner. It was so nice to have them back and to have a sweet baby to squeeze again!
Since Joe didn't have to go in today, he came to swim lessons with us! Joli was so excited! She's been swimming for a year and a half and this is the third time Joe has been! Charlotte thought it was pretty cool too!
I still got in the pool but only as the photographer.
Joli is almost to the point where she can swim without assistance, which is why she only has another month or two and then she's going to move up to the next level with a teacher.

Of course there had to be underwater photos!
The teacher showed Joe where to put his hand to help her swim farther and she did so good!

I think I would have been disappointed if Joe couldn't open his eyes underwater.

Eventually we had to get out and get in the shower. Oh well, we had a blast!

Halloween Spirit

Today Joli reached new heights. Literally, she climbed on top of a dresser and pulled down the Belle Barbie doll off the top of the medicine cabinet. She had the packaging open before we had even realized what she was doing. After she was done being in trouble and told us that she understood what she had done wrong, I took the Belle the rest of the way out of the package and handed her to an elated child.
While Joli took her nap I decided that it was finally time to decorate for Halloween. I finally have a good supply of Halloween decorations and it was so much fun!

This was the first quilt I ever made. Five years ago, while Joe was in boot camp, I just about lived at his parents house whenever I could take off from work. Joe's mom kept me busy by teaching me how to quilt and now I LOVE it!!
Joli didn't know I was putting up Halloween decorations so I got the coffee table all ready with fun things for her to play with.
She was ecstatic when she got out of bed!
She wanted to go out on the porch and play with the things I had put out there, but it was the first cold day we've had since March, so I got Joli all bundled up in some Halloween clothes.
There were so many things to look at and play with, Joli didn't quiet know what to do with herself!
It was so nice to stay home and relax today, especially since I got to wear a sweatshirt all day!

A Fairy Beautiful Day

Well I had no intention of including this picture in this particular post but since blogger is being beyond stupid and won't let me move or delete it, here it is.
We went to one of Joli's friend's birthday party yesterday afternoon and were thrilled because it was a Tinkerbell party and Joli got to dress up!
Here is Autumn the birthday girl. Her fairy costume was so pretty.
It was so fun watching the little fairies run around.
There were a few little boys chasing the fairies that just didn't quite understand.
It was so fun capturing their little shadows.

Joli was talking to the little boy on the other end.

This was her second cupcake. Go big or go home right!?!
Autumn, Joli, and this little Charlotte have been going to play dates together since they were infants.

Fairy birthdays are so much fun!

Busy

So I think I can take advantage of this new found game!!
She thinks it's the best thing ever!
Once the dishes were done we decided to make banana bread.
Today was a handy day for me. I replaced all the flood lights on the front of the house. Replaced part of the toilet. Put on new outlet overs. And reupholstered all four of the dining room chairs. The fabric on them was a little stained and the screws no longer held the seats in place.
So after Home Depot, Joli and I went to Jo-Ann's and found some vinyl that was on sale. I had been thinking all week about what I wanted to put on them but after Joli and I had spaghetti last night, I decided something washable would be best. Here's my finished product!
I also found new longer screws and reattached the seats so no more sliding!
