We couldn't wait to get exploring in the morning! Driving through the tree was super exciting.
We went to Elk Meadow and watched the elk for awhile.
Then we went to see "Big Tree"
It was time to explore. The kids had no fear!
"Slide down Markus, I'll catch you".
There was so much to see!
Then they found a "slide".
They wanted to play on the slide all day!
Then they were off exploring again!
It was just amazing how they grew off of each other!
I told the kids that Jurassic Park was filmed here, and they decided they were going to pretend there was a T-Rex and they were hiding. Then they hid under the logs from the Raptors.
Then Joli decided she was going to be our tour guide and took us off the trail a ways.
We found an awesome log hanging about thirty feet off the ground, so we climbed across it!
Markus waited for me.
Once we finally found our way out of the ferns, I took the top of the Jeep and we drove through the Redwoods awhile.
We found a viewpoint the lookout over the Klamath River.
The kids loved the stone bears.
Once we got back to camp, we decided to hike down to the beach. Joli ate along the way.
It ended up being more of a slide down the hill. The kids were not impressed.
It didn't look that hard from the top!
Then we finally made it onto the beach!
It was awfully beautiful!
The kids found all sorts of rocks to take back with them.
Since I knew there was no way we were climbing back up the hill, we walked up the beach towards the river, where I knew we'd find the road.
We also found the river to play in!
We rested awhile before we started the hike up the hill.
Finally we made it back to camp had some dinner! We had the weirdest watermelon, but it sure tasted good!
It was an exhausting, yet amazing, day!
