Setting Up Camp in the Redwoods!

Saturday morning we woke up, got some groceries, and some breakfast, and headed about an hour up into the Redwoods. We were are fully impressed!

Joli couldn't wait to find some clovers.

I had to make sure to get some pictures of the Jeep in the forest too!

After some dirt road driving, we finally found a spot to set up camp. We had to hike our stuff in, but there were blackberries next to our parking spot, so the kids were thrilled!

After three trips into the woods, we finally got our stuff set up.
The kids love all the free space to play.

Joli loved seeing a "wild" beehive.
We took a few more things into the woods before relaxing.

We had a pretty spectacular view!

The wildlife was super cute!

Finally we were ready to start our campfire.
The kids wanted to roast the hot dogs, and I didn't care, so they gave it a shot.

We watched a beautiful sunset and had a delicious dinner.

It's funny how the kids will come up with games when they're bored. This was called "squish the stick".

Finally it was time for the thing that Markus talked about for weeks! S'mores!

It was nice to sit down at the end of the day and watch the kids play.

They put on a show for me.

Eventually they were tired and bored, so we got ready for bed!
It was a little hard to fall asleep with so much excitement.
It was a pretty great day!
