Pumpkin Patch

Today we made our annual trip to the pumpkin patch, and I must say, we will NEVER go on a weekend again! It was a mad house! There were easily eight times as many people as when we go during the week! The kids were able to get close enough to see the animals though.

Since it was the weekend, there were all kinds of food trucks, and the fire department. The kids were excited to "drive" the firetruck.

Markus and Joli love their "RyRy"!

There was a horse drawn hay ride that we were very excited to ride on!
 "Happy Halloween!"
 "Look Mom! Horses have butts!"
Markus really wanted to go on the tractor hay ride, and since it meant we didn't have to walk around in the heat, we agreed!

There had been a scarecrow contest earlier, and it was pretty neat to see the entries.
We decided to take the kids in the maze, which was a hot disaster!
They had a card with eight spots to put a stamp on it and you had to collect them all. Probably would have been fine if there hadn't been a ton of people and sweat pouring down our backs. Markus started our fairly patient.

But having to walk in the heat and then wait in multiple lines, just isn't compatible with small children.
After the fourth stamp we decided our maze was done! Markus was happy with Mickey Mouse scarecrow.
Next we got our annual picture on the "Big Macs". The kids didn't want to small, so they said "Boo" instead.
I also managed a fairly good one of the three of us.
Then we checked out some pumpkin insides.

 "Look it's squishy!"
 Joli was very silly!

Finally it was time to pick our pumpkins!

Joli found one for Daddy first, then one for her! Markus happily found his, and then helped me with mine. Since the car was entirely too far for me to carry mine, Joe's and Markus' pumpkin, Joli sat with them under a tree while Markus and I ran and got it. She was a little nervous, but she did great!
The drive home was long, but quiet.
