Driving the Coastline!

Today was our family vacation day! We drove down the coastline with a plan to stop when we saw beautiful things, we quickly learned that it was all beautiful and we had to pick and choose. After driving for a couple hours, we got some lunch, and then went down for a walk on the beach! It was so much different from the beaches in San Diego, and I just loved it!
The kids were a little cold, but still happy.

It was fun finding treasures in the sand.

I showed Joli how to draw our names.

Markus threw the stick for Havoc.

Joli drew her own name.

Here's a pretty good shot of what Markus' head looked like after falling out of the car after breakfast. He's fine but I don't think Joe will ever set him down without strapping him in again!

Markus tried to write his name.

We looked for more treasures.

A butterfly shell.

Another family picture.

Beautiful rocks.

We did some climbing.

Then we headed down the coast some more, and some more beautiful rocks!

There was a lot of sleeping!

Then we made it to the Redwoods! I've seen them before but they were still phenomenal!

The trees were just so beautiful!! The kids were in complete awe! It was like the greatest natural playground ever! We drove some more and came across Elk Meadow. There was a gorgeous buck there!

We pulled into Eureka just as the sun was setting!

It was such a fabulous day!
