"They're All Filled in My Heart"

We didn't have a lot of plans today. So we went for a walk.
Joli found a rock that she wanted to throw in the river.

Then she was sad that her rock was gone.
There were leaves to jump in... in other people's yards.

In honor of All Souls Day, we went to the cemetary. Joli was very interested in the fact that there were skeletons under the ground. Although she wasn't not very excepting of the fact that she couldn't dig them up and look at them. We started to read some of the headstones, which led into a very long day of questions about the plague, modern medicine, and what happens when we die. This is one of the headstones that Joli was very concerned with.
While Joli was looking at this headstone and saying "I'm sorry you died", Markus started to squirm in the stroller. Joli didn't realize it was him and said "Mom! I hear her!".
Laume showed Joli one of her favorite headstones. Joli was upset that such a young child died. She talked to the baby for a long time saying things like, "I'm sorry you had to die", "It's not fair", "I don't know why".

After awhile we wandered over and sat down so that Joli could have some time alone with the angel. She told Grammi "I'm done now, let me have some time to myself".

After many promises that we would come back and visit some time, we finally got Joli to start walking toward the exit.
It was a very pretty walk on the way back.

Once we got back to the house we played in the yard for a little bit.

Then we went to get something to eat.
Markus wanted something to play with and was very happy with this tea cup.

After playing with some Lincoln Logs and making a trip to Wal-Mart to check out the post-Halloween sale, we came back to the house for a bath.
Joli had a long day and curled up in the big bed by herself.
This is a picture from a few nights ago, but it's pretty much what Markus has been up to.
