Joli is SIX!!!

Joli had a pretty great day today. I gave her a birthday crown first thing this morning, but she was worried about it getting lost or broken at school, so it rode around on my dash all day. After taking her to school, I came home and got the stuff together to take a fruit salad to her class. It was a big hit! All the kids loved it and kept coming back for more. I also had a great time sitting and talking with all of them. The world of kindergartners is very fascinating! After picking up Markus and then Joli, we came home for a little down time and to open the day #5 package, and the day #6 package. Joli had a stomach ache yesterday afternoon and didn't feel like doing any activities, so I figured today we could do both! It worked at that both the kids got to open a package today.

In the packages were the supplies to make candy cane reindeer and paper plate snowmen. Since Abby and her kids were coming over, I thought it'd be great to set it out so all the kids could do it.
The kids were super excited to see each other, and Lilly couldn't wait to give Joli the present she picked out for her! (She wants the same for her birthday!)

The girls set right to work testing out all the new make up!

Markus wasn't too sure what was going on, or why it was fun. It wasn't long before he wandered off to play cars and trains with Syrus.
After we all had some baked macaroni and cheese (per Joli's request), she got to open her present from Chris, Kacie, Charlotte, and Caroline!
She was pretty excited! Over 1000 beads! Thanks Kacie ;)
I also let her open a little journal and a short Birthday reading book. She was very grown up about how important it is to her and Daddy that she waits till he is home to open the rest of her presents with him! Such a sweet girl!
I also found her a new Christmas hat for a couple bucks and since she broke hers, I figured I'd give it to her to wear for the whole season.
Lilly thought it was pretty cute too!

Joli asked specifically to go to The Melting Pot for dessert for her birthday, but since we also wanted to do that with Daddy, I figured a small cupcake from the bakery would be fine for today.

The other kids thought the cupcakes were a great idea!

Happy Birthday to our big girl!!!
