Down by the Bay

The kids and I both have had a cold since Saturday. Unfortunately, it has greatly effected Markus' sleep pattern. He woke up shortly after midnight and absolutely refused to go back to sleep. Since Grammi was still up, we went out and enjoyed her company. She and Markus read some books.
Markus was excited to see Juliet too.
We decided to do something that Laume had never done before. So we headed off to take the ferry across the bay from Coronado and then walk along the pier and look at the artwork. Joli was excited that I happened to have a quarter for her to use.

Markus thought the ferry looked pretty cool.
Once on board, I gave the kids a little snack to hold them over until we made it to lunch.
It was Markus' first time having a whole slice of watermelon and he LOVED it!
Since we had the stroller we couldn't go up on top, but that didn't stop Laume from enjoying the sea air.

One of the first pieces of art we came across was the blue dragon.
I got Markus out of the stroller to check the "Penelope" art, and he was hysterical that I took his watermelon.

We settled on a restaurant about fifteen feet from the bay. Markus tested a lemon.
Joli decided she wasn't as hungry as she thought and enjoyed coloring and checking out her surroundings.

Markus really tries to experience every thing he eats in every way possible.

We walked around Seaport Village for a moment to check out a few of our favorite shops.
Grammi bought Joli a little present in the pirate store.
Then we started to walk past the fountain, at which point Markus started trying to jump out of the stroller to go see.
So we checked it out for a bit.

Then we walked down to see the beautiful kites.

Joli wanted to take a picture of all the mermaids.

Finally we walked back toward all the artwork we came to see. We also checked out the ships in the harbor.

We had to get a picture of The Berkeley. :)

Such a beautiful and spontaeous day!
