Cole Turned One!!!

Today was exactly a year since Cole was born! Joli had a hard time excepting that the day was about someone else. But she adjusted and was happy for Cole. Joli especially liked Cole's swing!
I tried to make Joli feel included by having her help me put together the party favors. She had a great time !
Joli did such a great job. This is how they turned out.
Cole thinks that birthdays are the best thing ever!
Cole had a ton of family come down for his birthday. This is Jessica's cousin Rachel.
Here are Ryan's parents and his grandma.
This is Jessica's Aunt Tammie and Cousin Rachel.
Since Cole's nickname is monkey and he loves monkeys so much he had an all monkey birthday!
Joli and Cole both celebrated their first birthdays by recieving a ball pit!
Here's daddy Ryan and Cole.
Here is Jessica and her mom Angie.
Brody was amazing and gentle with all the kids and adults. He was so calm and just waited patiently for people give him love or food.
Joli almost couldn't stand waiting to put on her monkey hat.
Cole's little girlfriend, Lizzie, was also at the party and actually took about six steps all by herself! Jess was sad that Cole didn't want to take steps.
Having 50 people in your house is overwhelming no matter how old you are. Cole did a good job of finding a comfortable person to love on.
I really wanted to do something special for Cole since it was his first birthday so I decided to make my first jar quilt and put some pictures in the jars. Jessica had no idea that I was making him something and I could not wait for her to see it!
Jessica almost immediately started crying after seeing pictures of Cole with his various family members throughout his whole first year of life. It was pretty rewarding seeing her so happy.
This is how it turned out.
Here you can see the backing as well.
Cole got his own little cake for his birthday and he thought it was delicious!
Joli thought it was great too!
Lizzie thought Joli's baby doll was the best.
Since Jess and Ryan have a pool, a bunch of the kids got in after cake. I took a ton of pics with Jess' camera but I'm going to have to make that a seperate post. Here is Joli once we were out of the pool.
Cole wasn't so sure about his car at first but he warmed up to it.
Brody spent the day outside so I didn't have to worry about him too much. He had lots of company but still missed his Joli.
Once everyone had gone home Brody got to come inside and decided he was in love with the stuffed dog that Cole got for his birthday.
At the end of the day Brody did what we all felt like doing.
It was such a wonderful party and no we're all wiped!
