Memorial Day Tradition

I don't think there's been a Memorial Day since we've lived in San Diego that we haven't spent it at the beach. So even though we had no plans with anyone and Joe wasn't here, I decided to take the kids anyway. It was so lovely.

I was very happy to lay on my blanket and read my book :)
Joli was so funny. She went to get some water from the surf, and started with the smallest cup we had.

Then went to the next size up.
Finally she got smart, and took both the biggest buckets we have!

Markus was so funny with his run. He was doing a whole arm swinging thing!

Then we had some lunch. It was very yummy.

Since we love Joe and miss Joe, and his favorite part of summer is fresh cherries, and they are on sale, we had to get some to eat and think of him!

Joli made a new friend and they had a great time playing in the water.
Then the other little girl had to go home, so Joli actually played with her brother! It was sweet.

We were only there about three hours, but we still had a great time.
