Since it is a new month and a new set of holidays, today Markus and I made peppermint chocolate play doh!
He had a great time with the new doh!! He loves the new stuff because it is warm and soft, plus is smells great!
He was also very excited to use the Christmas cookie cutters!
I'm pretty sure I am going to have an excellent helper with it's time to make cookies!!
Another great thing about Christmas time is that I can pass off any red or green food as "Christmas" food! This is a Christmas tree wrap with beat ornaments!
Once Joli got out of school, we gathered up some stuff and headed to Nikki's for dinner and the parade. When we arrived, Nikki and Ryan gave Joli a birthday present! Ryan has a doll exactly like it, and Joli has wanted one ever since she first saw Ryan's!
Nikki made us some delicious chili for dinner.
Markus and Ryan fed each other...
Nikki bought the kids cupcakes for Joli's birthday and it was soon time to sing "Happy Birthday". Markus was so enthusiastic while he sang to her, that Joli was thrilled to hear him sing!
Markus was also so happy for Joli that he didn't even try to blow out her candle! Joli was a very happy girl!
Nikki's cousin came over with her two kids, and Markus was beyond thrilled that there was a baby to hold!
Then it was time for the parade! The kids were so excited!!
Every year people come by with mini candy canes, but they're usually in such a hurry that they either skip us or one of the kids. So this year I put a whole bunch in my pocket before hand!
Markus said "I wonder if Daddy can do THAT with a gun", as these guys were twirling them all over the place!
Joli said her favorite part of the whole parade was "the purple cheerleaders". Markus loved the Grinch (his current favorite movie!).
Then Santa came down the road!
And lit the Christmas tree!
Afterward it was past the kids bedtime, and I was pretty exhausted as well, so we headed home. It was a very nice day!
