Christmas Traditions

We've spent the past couples years trying to work out what our family traditions are. So this year we started a new tradition of Joe reading "The Night Before Christmas". He actually recorded it before he left and the kids opened it tonight. Markus is really getting into unwrapping presents!

They were both so excited to hear Joe's voice. When it started I said "It's Daddy", and Joli said "No. It's Not. It's his voice recorded in the book. It's not Daddy.", um okay smarty-pants! Markus had the best reaction. He kept bouncing up and down and saying "dada" and pulling on the book. Then another page would start and we'd say "who's that" and he'd say "dada!".
Aunt Peg and Uncle Doug had a couple presents for the kids too. Markus got an awesome train that he can push all kinds of parts on.
Joli got one of her favorite things, a Cinderella Barbie that sings!
She was very excited!
After dinner we went to the church for a special Christmas service. It wasn't actually a sermon. There were kids that told the story of baby Jesus in between the band playing Christmas songs. At the end of the service they asked all the kids to come up on stage and sing "We Wish You a Merry Christmas". Of course Joli had no problem being up there in front of everyone.
She sang right along with everyone and then didn't want to come down afterward!
Tomorrow's Christmas Eve!!!
