"Campout"

So Abby and I had this crazy idea that we would camp out in the backyard with our four young children (what were we thinking). As the day got closer, we kept going over how and if we really thought this plan would work. Then yesterday there was thunder, lightning and rain! It carried into today and we decided maybe a camp out was a bad idea. As the day went on, the weather cleared up but we kind of took on an "oh well" attitude. After the craziness of our "bonfire", I think we're both grateful we didn't go through with it! We did however have a great time playing in the backyard, as it is getting more inviting every day.

After dinner, I started a fire in the fire pit and every one watched the excitement.

Abby went and got the kids some glow sticks (some of which "fell" into the fire), and the kids loved them!

Joli got a pink wand. Syrus got a blue sword. And Lilly got whatever was left.

Poor Lil.

Markus woke up from his nap and didn't quite know what to think.

The roasting of the marshmallows was interesting. Lilly really had no interest whatsoever. Syrus just wanted to burn the marshmallows. And Joli pretended to put her marshmallows in the fire, but really just wanted to eat them. I like liked my smore.

Once we got inside the kids were covered in dirt. So we threw them all in the tub!

This picture is to show the lovely purple bump on Joli's eye. She and Syrus were falling onto each other in the ball pit, and it ended with both of them crying, as usual.

We had such a great time. We laughed and laughed, and can't wait to do it again!
