Yesterday I had this wild idea that I would take the kids and the dog hiking today. So this morning I called Abby and asked her if they would like to join us, and of course she said yes! So I made some breakfast with a little help.
Joli didn't think that she should have to help. Oh well.
Once we got everything together, we met Abby and the kids at one of our local hiking trails! Lilly thought it'd be fun to ride in the back pack.
Of course the kids head straight for the water.
The kids were so excited to just run!
We had to remind them of the possibility of rattlesnakes several times. One time Syrus said "But I'm very brave!", um yeah, rattlesnakes don't care.
They also found a sign, which Syrus informed us said "If you find snakes or flamingos, tell your parents"!!
Lilly decided she could walk all by herself. Even up the rocky hill.
Brody was so excited to be out of the house, but eventually he realized it was very hot and he was whining for his doggy bed!
We stopped next to a little stream and let the kids take off their shoes and play in the water.
Abby brought cupcakes and the kids couldn't wait to eat them!
Markus was in the front pack, and apparently things had fallen in.
He wasn't quite sure why he was so hot and where he was.
Syrus wanted to check out what was upstream, so he and Abby and Lilly headed that way.
Joli thought she was being left out of something amazing.
I think he just laughs at me all the time.
Joli was totally in to the cupcakes.
Markus just watched everyone.
Lilly thinks she's a big girl and can do everything Syrus and Joli can do!
Brody would have loved to run around off leash! Next time we'll have to go somewhere that he can do that!
I tried to get a nice family picture for Abby... Good job Lilly.
Since Markus was awake and Lilly didn't want to be in the backpack, it was Markus' turn!
When we got home everyone was a little tired, so we just played on the floor a bit.
Brody pretty much did this the rest of the day.
Markus has just discovered the animals and is thoroughly fascinated.
Since Joli finished earning enough money to buy Woody, she's now working on Buzz Lightyear!
Brody was such a good dog today, even if he a great big puppy!
Zeus is obnoxious as always, but at least now it entertains the baby!
After dinner we played a few fun games. Markus loves Candyland.
